Our school’s pedagogy reflects the overarching principles and approach to learning outlined in the Sydney Catholic Schools’ Statement on Authentic Learning. By connecting to the real world of students’ lives, authentic learning enables students to become lifelong learners who contribute to society and the wider world as active and discerning citizens. Authentic learning is central to our work as Catholic educators because it promotes the continual growth and wellbeing of the whole person; spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically.
COVID‑19 response to Remote Learning
Our Continuity Learning Plan is designed to to help ensure that processes within our school system can continue during this challenging times. While we are engaged with remote learning, the school has a clear plan to ensure that all aspects of teaching and learning are addressed in this new mode of presentation.
The shared vision for learning across Kindergarten to Year 6 based on the identified theme of “Know the Learner”, is the basis for our learning framework.
The learning framework outlines the structures and shared practice that focus on catering for the diverse needs of all students and is underpinned by the Catholic identity, vision and mission of the school.
The theme of “Know the Learner” guides and directs all decisions that relate to creating an authentic learning environment for each student to thrive.
